Arts & Crafts Oak Dresser c.1910
Unusual Arts & Crafts oak dresser or sideboard c.1910. Raised back with three repoussé copper panels featuring a lovely Art Nouveau style motif of organic plant-like forms, over a slim shelf raised on pierced ends. Base with a single drawer and a central cupboard (internal depth 18") flanked with canted sides with open shelves and smaller cupboards below. Superb Arts & Crafts brass handles, note the heart detail at the centre. Two more matching copper panels to the doors and an unusual pierced detail to the curving apron above the shelves. Curved bottom edge with a shaped detail at the centre. Raised on flared sledge feet. Solid oak throughout. Maker's made at the rear for T.M Locke Manufacturers of Colchester. Some minor wear to the top, generally excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied for the central cupboard.
