Faux Bamboo Double Bed c.1890

Late 19th.c. faux bamboo double bed c.1890. Pine and beechwood frame with applied decoration turned to imitate bamboo furniture following the fashion for Japanese art and design popular in the period. Tall headboard with a 'broken' pediment top and turned finials over three panels. Repeated at the foot but with a straight top, the bamboo style decoration also continues on the sides. Internal dimensions 136 x 204cm. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
