Ebonized Credenza c.1880

Beautiful late 19th.c. ebonized credenza or side cabinet c.1880. Cabinets for display with glazed doors and sides fitted with two shelves, either side of a blind door centre cupboard with a single shelf (internal depth 13"). Striking design in ebonized hardwood with contrasting burr walnut inlay and extensive gilded ormolu mounts and mouldings. Centre door featuring fine marquetry inlays with a central lozenge surrounded by a delicate scrolling frame with acanthus detail. Further inlay to the walnut frieze above the doors. Slim turned columns flanking each of the doors with fluting highlighted in gold and gilded ormolu Corinthian capitals. Original royal blue velvet lining to the interior. Some minor wear, generally excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
