Maple & Marble Top Commode c.1830
Early 19th.c French marble top commode chest of drawers in maple c.1830. Black marble top with some small white fossils embedded within and rounded front corners. Over a chest of four long oak lined drawers. Pale honey coloured maple veneers across the front and sides, an unusual choice rather than the more commonly found walnut or mahogany veneers. Free of almost any applied decoration save for the shaped front to the top drawer, continued on the sides of the cabinet. Some obvious wear and repairs to the veneers. Restored cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
