Anglo-Indian Elephant Head Table c.1890

Unusual late 19th.c. Anglo-Indian ebonised side table or jardiniere stand c.1890. 14½” diameter table top with a raised and deep moulded edge. Tall tripod legs shaped as Indian elephant heads with carved detail to the headresses, eyes and ears, curving wooden tusks and long trunks with a pad foot below. Shaped and carved detail to the apron, legs joined with a shaped stretcher shelf at the centre. Original ebonised finish. Very good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
