Long Oak Dresser Base c.1790

Superb late 18th.c. oak potboard dresser base c.1790. Very nearly seven feet long. Oak plank top with a simple moulded edge. Note the 12" deep board used with its good grain, sawn to reveal a pattern of medullary rays. Four oak lined drawers with cockbeaded edges brass scallop handles. Over a very attractive apron featuring four pointed ogee arches, also cockbeaded and raised on turned column legs. With an open potboard display shelf with the original oak boards. Moulded plinth and ogee bracket beet at the front and sides. Oak sides and backboard. Later handles and repairs and restorations to the top and right rear hand stile. Otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
