Anglo Indian Hallstand c.1880
Remarkable late 19th.c. Anglo Indian teak hall stand c.1880. Panelled back topped with a superb carved decoration of women in saris reclining either side of a flower head roundel and amongst scrolling foliate decoration. Raised and fielded panels with carved detail plus carved and pierced panels featuring dancers and exotic birds amongst foliage. Fitted with five replacement period gilded brass hooks with porcelain ends. Over scrolling and moulded rails to hold sticks and umbrellas etc, raised on fine turned twist carved columns. Elaborately pierced lower panels and carved base raised on turned bun feet. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
