Welsh Oak Dresser Base c.1780

Late 18th.c. oak Welsh dresser base from the Southern Welsh borders c.1780. Single piece top with an applied moulded edge. Over three oak lined drawers with brass swan neck handles and a moulded edge to the drawer fronts. Particularly attractive shaped apron below the drawers and also continued on the sides. Raised on turned and tapering front legs, the straight rear stiles with a chamfered inner edge typical of the period. Oak sides and backboard. Some old marks to the top and two small repairs to the moulding at the front edge. Generally excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
