Very Small Cylinder Top Desk c.1900
Very small mahogany and brass inlaid cylinder top writing desk c.1900. Just 18" wide. White marble shelf to the top with a pierced brass gallery and a slim oak lined drawer below. The cylinder fall opens to reveal a tiny desk with a tooled leather skiver in the base, below which is writing slide with original blue velvet surface and another slim drawer. Extensive brass mouldings and inlays (with ebony stringing) to the front and sides. Slim turned and fluted legs front and rear with brass mounts to the tops and joined with an unusually shaped and pierced stretcher, also with brass moulding to the edges. Raised on turned brass finial feet. Obvious damage to the blue velvet on the slide (could be replaced if preferred), otherwise colour and excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied for both the drawers.
