Very Narrow Pencil Bookcase c.1960

Unusually slim mahogany bow fronted 'pencil' bookcase or display cabinet c.1960. Just 18" wide. In two pieces with a glazed bookcase top fitted with four adjustable shelves (max depth 8½"), each with a plate groove along the back edge. Over a single door cupboard base with two drawers in the waist. Moulded cornice with a carved frieze, crossbanded glazing bars with inlaid stringing, matched flame mahogany veneers to the drawer fronts and door panel with a raised moulding and neat brass knobs. Shaped apron and feet. Solid mahogany sides and oak drawer linings. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
