Terracotta Bust of Madame de Récamier c.1900

Fine quality terracotta bust of the famous great French socialite and Neo-Classical beauty Madame Récamier (1777-1849) c.1900. A copy of the celebrated original marble bust by Joseph Chinard (1756-1813). Portrait bust of Récamier shown with her hair tied with a headscarf and clutching fabric across her partially exposed breast. In terracotta with a grey painted finish. Signed Lecomte on the rear. Some minor wear, exposing the terracotta in a few spots, all away from the face. Generally very good condition.
