Small Welsh Oak Mule Chest c.1800
Small late Georgian oak mule chest c.1800. Unusual small size, just 42½" wide. Three plank top with an applied moulded edge opening on long iron strap hinges to reveal useful storage inside (internal height 19"). Plus a small lidded compartment to the right hand side, the lid of which forms a stay to hold the chest lid when open. Over two useful drawers in base. Raised and fielded panels to the front and sides with moulded surrounds. Attractive Georgian pattern brass handles with pierced backplates and brass escutcheons. Moulded plinth with shaped front edge. Oak back panels. Very good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
