Small Painted Canework Couch c.1910

Charming little Edwardian era ebonised canework couch c.1910. Curving canework back and sides with carved detail to the top rail and lovely shaped arms. Webbed seat with a loose kidney shaped seat cushion. Ebonised frame with superb original hand painted decoration of harebell garlands repeated (unusually) on the rear. Painted acanthus detail above the front legs with are turned and painted with fabric swags. The rear legs are shaped and splayed backwards for stability. Some wear to the paintwork, most obviously to the right hand end of the couch. Otherwise very good condition with serviceable upholstery to the cushion.
