Small Oak Chest c.1700

Delightful little early 18th.c. oak coffer c.1700. Primitive construction from solid oak boards with pronounced grain. Sturdy enough to use as a little hall seat with storage. Lid with a thumb moulded edge opening on hoop hinges, decorative pierced brass lock plate and distinctive shaped cutaways at the sides to form the feet. Earlier repairs and restorations, excellent condition and attractive mellow colour. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
