Six Walnut Country Chippendale Dining Chairs c.1790

Rare set of six George III vernacular dining chairs in walnut c.1790. The design of the backrest is a simplified version of the fashionable Chippendale chairs of the period, with a particularly well shaped top rail and baluster silhouette back splat between elegantly shaped rear stiles. Board seats raised on tapering square legs joined with stretchers to each side for extra strength. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
