Rosewood Breakfront Open Bookshelves c.1860

Splendid mid 19th.c. rosewood open bookshelves or bookcase c.1860. Quite unusual to find an open bookcase of this size. In two pieces, both breakfronted (deeper at the centre) and divided into three vertical sections, each fitted with three adjustable shelves in the top (internal depth 6½"/8") and two in the base (internal depth 11"/12"). Veneered in beautifully figured rosewood across the front and sides. With a crisp moulded cornice and carved corbels to the uprights which all have moulded fronts. Rosewood crossbanded apron and plinth to the base. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
