Regency Rosewood Fold Over Supper Table c.1830.

Very handsome Regency rosewood fold over games table c.1830. Stands against the wall as an elegant console or side table or twist and open the top to make a square supper table for four people. Highly figured rosewood veneers to the top with crossbanded edges, continued on the inside and around the apron with an unusual bulbous moulding to the bottom edge. Raised on an octagonal column with carved acanthus detail to the lower portion. On a shaped plinth also rosewood veneered, and splendid feet carved as scrolling acanthus leaves with brass castors below. Excellent colour and condition cleaned and polished in our workshops.
