Regency Mahogany Secretaire Bookcase c.1830
Handsome early 19th.c. mahogany secretaire bureau bookcase c.1830. Tall glazed bookcase top divided into two sections with three adjustable shelves to each half. Over a secretaire base, the top drawer folding open to make a good sized desk with pigeon holes, small stationery drawers and a lockable cupboard at the centre. With three long drawers of graduated depth below the desk. Slim moulded cornice, reeded glazing bars and brass door trim. Inlaid ebony stringing to the base, continued on the drawer fronts which each retain the original brass handles. Shaped apron and legs to the front and sides. Solid mahogany sides and oak drawer linings. Some wear to the original finish on the drawer fronts, generally excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
