Pair of Carved Oak Box Stools

Lovely quality pair of small 17th.c. style carved oak box stools or low side tables c.1960. 20" x 10" tops with chip carved ends opening on long iron strap hinges to reveal useful storage inside (internal height 6"). Both boxes are carved at the front with traditional flower head and foliate designs. Turned stiles, flared for stability and joined with low stretchers for extra strength. Minor wear to the finish on one of the tops. Otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
