Single Bed with Painted Decoration c.1890
Beautiful late 19th.c. single bed in birch with original painted decoration c.1890. Head and foot board both featuring delightful hand painted scenes of flowers, birds and butterflies between crisp turned and fluted columns with carved acanthus detail. The headboard also topped with a pierced wave pattern frieze and splendid artichoke finials. Further painted botanical detail to the column bases at the head, the side rails and around the base of the footboard. Raised on turned feet front and rear. Note also the duck egg blue paint used to highlight the mouldings and framing the painted panels. To take a 3'6" x 75" single mattress. Some minor wear, generally very good condition. Disassembles for delivery.
