Narrow Louis XV Style Secretaire Abattant c.1920
Neat little Louis XV style secretaire abattant or writing bureau c.1930. Useful narrow dimensions, just 26" wide, with serpentine front and sides with the original shaped white marble top. Open the fall (disguised as the top three drawer fronts) to reveal a velvet lined writing surface (height 31") and a birdseye maple lined interior with two selves and two small drawers with rosewood veneered fronts. Four oak lines drawers below the desk, big enough for A4 sheets of paper. Symmetrically arranged tulipwood veneers with rosewood crossbanding and inlaid ebony and boxwood stringing. Decorative brass mounts, handles and escutcheons and bands of brass moulding to the cornice, drawer fronts and plinth. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied for the fall and the drawers.
