Marble Top Console Table c.1830

Superb early 19th.c. mahogany and marble top console table c.1830. Original grey marble top with an slightly recessed oval centre, the raised border designed to prevent items rolling off the sides, set within a moulded edge. On a well figured flame mahogany veneered base with a shaped frieze at the front of which is a single drawer with maple veneered interior. Curving bracket front supports joining the square rear pilasters on moulded plinths over scrolling corbels with crisp carved detail to both sides. On a cupid’s bow shaped plinth, veneered to match and raised on carved claw feet. Three filled holes toward the rear edge of the marble, otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
