Mahogany Revolving Desk Chair c.1880

Splendid late 19th.c. mahogany and leather revolving desk armchair c.1880. Bow shaped and moulded backrest and arms with rounded terminals raised on a gallery of shaped spindles. Over a 20" diameter circular webbed seat (height 17½") retaining what appears to be the original red leather covering. Revolving on a good quality ball bearing mechanism on four curving legs raised on the original ceramic castors. Brass maker's label to the underside for the quality cabinet makers Sopwith & Co of Newcastle Upon Tyne. Obvious wear to the seat, otherwise very good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
