Mahogany Linen Press by W. Williamson & Sons of Guildford c.1810
Handsome late Georgian mahogany linen press by the quality English cabinet makers W.Williamson & Sons of Guildford c.1810. Two door cupboard top fitted with two shelves (internal depth 22") on a separate base with two short and one long drawer of graduated height. Moulded cornice with and blind fretwork frieze continued on the sides. Well figured solid mahogany raised and fielded door panels. Solid mahogany drawer fronts with cockbeaded edges and heavy brass handles. Oak drawer linings. Solid mahogany sides to both the top and bottom sections. Raised on shaped bracket feet at the front and sides. Large makers stamp to the top left drawer front. Some previous repairs and restorations, replacement shelves and period replacement brassware. Generally excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Cupboard key supplied.
