Large 16th.c. style Flemish woven tapestry wall hanging. A detail of one of the Hunts of Maximilian series of twelve tapestries now to be found in the Louvre. Depicting The Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I or horseback with numerous figures and a detailed view of the city of Brussels in the background. Within a dense border of flowers and fruit plus a classical frieze along the bottom edge. Detailed label and certificate of origin on the reverse marked Made in Flanders. Fabric backing and hanging pocket. Excellent condition.
