Large Oak Gateleg Dining Table c.1790

Large late 18th.c. oak gateleg dining table c.1790. Big enough to seat eight people. 61½" x 69" oval table top with a thumb moulded edge. Folding leaves held open on double gates below, with an oak lined drawer at each end. A superb example of the form with lovely pierced detail to the apron below the drawers which is (unusually) repeated at the top of each gate. Fine twist carved legs, gates and stretchers all round, with short turned feet. Some minor marks to the top and old repairs to the feet typical of age. Generally excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
