Large Gilded Figure of a Heron c.1930

Spectacular Art Deco era table top sculpture of a Heron by the French animal sculptor Irénée Rochard (1906-1984) c.1930. Posed ready to strike for a fish, very well cast in spelter with a beautiful gilded finish. Mounted on a oval black slate plinth (27½" x 8½") with a moulded edge. Signed Rochard on the plinth. Presented as found in very good original condition with only minor wear to the finish.
