Gothic Revival Brass Lectern c.1889

Fabulous quality Gothic revival brass lectern or music stand dated 1889. Sloping lectern top (20½" x 17") with a shaped ledge to hold a book, notes etc. Beautiful pierced decoration of scrolling plant forms around the central cross and with moulded edges. Revolving on a twisted column raised on a superb Gothic tripod base with elaborate scroll work, applied leaf forms and three spiral columns topped with long tapering finials. Presentation inscription on the underside of the lectern ledge dated Xmas 1889. Presented as found missing a couple of bolts and with minor damage to the decorative scroll work on the rear of the lectern top. Generally very good condition. Solid and sturdy. Weight 25 kg.
