Georgian Open Dresser Base c.1800

George III oak and mahogany crossbanded open dresser base c.1800. Top made from two oak boards with an applied moulding to the underside. Over three large drawers, the drawer fronts with inlaid mahogany crossbanding, cockbeaded edges and later Georgian pattern brass handles with decorative pierced backplates and escutcheons. Further mahogany crossbanding surrounding the drawers and a very attractively shaped apron across the front of the dresser. Tapering square stiles to the front, oak panelled sides and sturdy square stiles at the rear. Elm drawer linings and backboard. Previous repairs to the front left hand corner of the top and to the tips of the stiles. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
