Georgian Brass Bound Cellarette c.1800
Large George III mahogany cellarette c.1800. Of tapering octagonal form with a useful flat-top opening to reveal space inside for 19 standard wine bottles (internal height 13"). Brass bindings around the lid and body, large carry handles at the sides and retaining the original drainage tap (the cellarette would originally have had a lead or zinc lining allowing bottles to be cooled in ice water). On a tripod stand with a moulded edge, legs splayed for stability with unusual pierced brackets at the tops and raised on the original brass barrel castors. Very good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
