George III Mahogany Sideboard c.1810

Large George III mahogany bow front sideboard c.1810. Deep mahogany veneered top with an inlaid and rosewood crossbanded edge. Over a slim centre drawer flanked by deeper drawers to both sides (note the hidden compartment at the back of the right and drawer). Highly figured mahogany veneers to the drawer fronts with inlaid satinwood crossbanding and lovely sunburst spandrels at the corners. Further inlaid with shell motif to the uprights either side of the drawers and with a larger repeat of the sunburst at either side of the curving apron below the centre drawer. Inlaid stringing to the bottom edge and raised on tapering square legs with spade feet, also inlaid at the front. Solid mahogany sides and oak drawer linings. Some old marks and to the top and later brass handles. Otherwise very good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
