George III Inlaid Mahogany Fold Over Tea Table c.1800

Delightful George III mahogany fold over tea or supper table c.1800. Stands flat against the wall as an elegant bow front side table or open the hinged rear leg and fold open the top to make an oval table designed for taking tea. Spectacular top in flame mahogany inlaid with striking fan detail in pale sycamore or boxwood with contrasting ebony and burr walnut veneers and a satinwood crossbanded and inlaid edge. The inner leaves are mahogany veneered also with a crossbanded and inlaid edge. Original hinges and a moulded bottom edge to the lower leaf. Crossbanded mahogany apron raised on tapering square legs with stepped block feet. Presented as found with some old wear and repairs. Particularly good colour to the top.
