French Empire Dressing Table c.1820

Early 19th.c. French Empire style mahogany dressing table or wash stand c.1820. Just 29" wide. Original oval mirror plate within a crossbanded flame mahogany frame, angle adjustable on a shaped yoke, veneered to match and ending in delightful carved swan’s heads (symbol of the Empress Josephine). Over the original white marble top with rounded corners. Flame mahogany veneered base with a single drawer. Raised on graceful curving legs joined with a turned stretcher and retaining the original wooden castors to the feet. Some tarnish to the mirror (which could be easily replaced), mainly around the edge. Otherwise very good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
