Empire Style Bookcase c.1930
Good quality French Empire style mahogany bookcase c.1930. Breakfronted with three doors featuring brass grills over blind panels. Fitted inside with three long adjustable shelves (max internal depth 16"). Moulded cornice with large pierced brass mounts over each door. Note the swans, emblem of the Empress Josephine, over the middle door. Additional mounts to the lower door panels featuring Classical torches and laurel wreaths. Turned columns flanking each door also with brass capitals and bases. Solid mahogany side panels. Raised on a conforming plinth with further applied mounts to the front and short turned feet. Solid oak shelves and back panels. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
