Long Cherrywood Chest c.1860

Large mid 19th.c. French chest in cherry wood c.1860. Sturdy enough to sit on as a hall seat or at the end of a bed perhaps, or would make a good TV stand. Very nearly six feet long. With a flat (rather than panelled) top, with cleated ends and canted corners. Lifts to reveal lots of useful storage space inside. Panelled front and sides also in cherry. Note the chamfered edges to the rails and mullions and the moulded plinth around the base with canted corners to match the top. Excellent condition and particularly good colour. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
