Art Nouveau Bust of Sappho c.1910

Beautiful early 20th.c terracotta bust of the ancient Greek poet Sappho c.1910. Modelled as a young woman gazing thoughtfully into the distance. Wearing a Classical laurel wreath crown and with a laurel leaf border to her robe. Titled on the plinth in very stylish Art Nouveau or Jugendstil font. Signed on the rear H.L Blasche and with stamps and serial numbers for the German maker's Reps & Trinte of Magdeburg. Presented on a low marble plinth. Excellent condition.
