17th.c. Oak Six Plank Coffer c.1670
Primitive 17th.c. oak six plank coffer c.1670. Simple construction from six oak boards, sturdy enough to use as a little hall seat with storage. Lid with a moulded edge opening on hoop hinges to reveal storage inside plus a separate compartment to the right hand side, the lid of which works as a stay for the coffer lid when open. Chip carved edge plus attractive punched detail at the ends of the front board. Iron lock plate and latch. Shaped cutaway at the sides to form the feet. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
