Inlaid Walnut Music Cabinet c.1870.

19th.c. walnut music cabinet c.1870. Burr walnut top with original brass gallery at the back edge, inlaid stringing and a moulded edge. Single glazed door cabinet fitted with four shelves and dividers, three of the shelves with original leather fronts named for Dance, Songs and Sacred Music. Highly figured walnut veneers across the top front and sides with inlaid stringing and crossbanding and a fine marquetry work frieze above the door. Flanked with turned columns featuring acanthus carved terminals and inlaid detail. Gilded ormolu mouldings above the door, to the edge of the glazing and on the columns. Raised on a plith, also veneered and inlaid to match. Presented and found in very good unrestored colour and condition. Key supplied.
