19th.c. Mahogany Combination Wardrobe & Linen Press c.1840.

Beautiful mid 19th.c. mahogany combination wardrobe and linen press by M.Willson of Great Queen Street c.1840. Break fronted, with a deeper centre featuring a two door linen press with five sliding shelves over a chest of two short and two long drawers of graduated depth. Full length cupboards to each side, internal depth 18″, fitted with a hanging rail (plus a hinged lid compartment in the base) to the left hand side and shelves to the right. A very handsome piece, of elegant uncluttered design. A slim moulded and cross banded cornice over highly figured flame mahogany door panels. Turned and ebonised knobs to the doors, note also the reeded moulding continued from the centre across the side doors and the dummy escutcheons on the lower panels. Solid mahogany drawer fronts with cock beaded edges and large turned knobs. Solid mahogany sides and moulded plinth. Fine quality cabinet making with solid mahogany groundwork to the doors, mahogany slides and drawer linings. Stamped on the top left drawer front. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
Splits into four sections plus cornice and plinth for delivery.
