Louis XVI Style Brass Mounted Wine Table c.1910
Fine quality French Louis XVI style brass mounted wine table c.1910. 28½" top with segmented mahogany veneers laid in a striking sunburst pattern. Inlaid kingwood parquetry lozenge at the centre, inlaid and crossbanded border and a raised brass edge moulding. Shaped apron with matching veneers and inlays continued on legs with crossbanded edges. Superb brass mounts to the tops of the legs with lovely floral detail. Further mounts to the feet with acanthus leaves (repeated on the inner edge) over hoof feet. Oak veneered on the underside of the table with an original label for the Paris makers Haentgés Freres. Slight shadow to the top, otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
