Large Ebonised Bookcase c.1880

Superb quality large late 19th.c. ebonised bookcase c.1880. Breakfronted with a shallower open bookcase top fitted with adjustable shelves (depth 13"/14") over an enclosed cupboard base with three drawers in the waist. The drawers with fold down fronts ideal for filing or the storage of folio prints etc. Crisp moulded cornice over fluted column uprights to the top, carved with swagged cloth detail. Moulded drawer fronts and doors, the middle doors with carved acanthus detail. Large turned columns between the doors and raised on a deep moulded plinth. Oak lined interior and drawers. Original ebonised finish, retouched in places. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Cupboard keys supplied. Note this bookcase can be disassembled into flat sections for delivery.
