George II Mahogany Metamorphic Games & Tea Table c.1750

Superb little George II mahogany metamorphic table c.1750. Just 29" wide. Stands flat against the wall as good looking little side table or open the rear leg and fold open the top to make a tea table for four people. The inner table leaf also folds open to reveal a games table top with green baize surface and square trays for playing chips etc. Solid mahogany tops with shaped corners, rounded edges and the original hinges. Over a crossbanded apron with a small drawer in the front. Moulded drawer front with original brass handle, oak drawer linings. Raised on slim tapering legs with attractive shaped detail to the knees and pad feet. Old paper retailer's label for Edward Butler of Dublin. With a minor blemish to the left hand side of the top and some old marks to the tea table. Generally excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
