French Empire Marble Top Gueridon Centre Table c.1830

Superb early 19th.c. French Empire marble top centre table or gueridon c.1830. 38″ diameter top in an unusually figured pale grey marble, the edge moulded with a border of concentric rings designed to stop spilt liquids from running over the sides. Over a flame mahogany veneered apron with a moulded bottom edge. Reeded urn shaped pedestal with a turned base raised on three good Empire style legs carved with papyrus detail at the sides and large paw feet with small brass castors below. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
