Oak Lambing Chair c.1810

Early 19th.c. oak wing armchair or 'lambing' chair c.1810. High panelled backrest with a shaped cresting rail and the short angled wings typical of the form. The broad flat-top arms with rounded terminals are also a typical feature, providing a useful surface for a drink, a plate or candle. Whilst the sides are enclosed to prevent draughts. Later webbed seat with a loose cushion in a rustic course woven cloth with simple striped pattern, a square of Persian carpet to the other side. Very good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
