Large Country House Sofa for Reupholstery c.1880

Splendid late 19th.c. sofa or couch c.1880. Of country house proportions, 7'4" long. Low and sloping padded backrest and arms over a deep sprung seat with three feather filled seat cushions. Raised on turned and polished walnut bun feet front and rear with the large original castors below, stamped for the quality maker Cope. Upholstered in a woven silk damask heavily worn and faded. Solid and sturdy with serviceable stuffing, springs and webbing.
