Small Fold Over Games Table c.1830

Charming little early 19th.c. mahogany fold over games table c.1830. Smaller than most we see at just 32" wide. Stands against the wall as a handsome console or side table or rotate and fold open the top to make a square games table with a green baize centre (with a well below for storing cards, gaming chips etc). Flame mahogany veneered top, note how the veneers are laid in a symmetrical pattern around the baize on the inside, and crossbanded edges. Shaped apron with carved scrolling detail to the front. Raised on a bulbous reeded column and square plinth with carved claw feet at each corner. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
