Welsh Cwpwrdd Deuddarn Dated 1726
Superb 18th.c. Welsh oak cwpwrdd deuddarn or two piece cupboard from the Snowdonia area, dated 1726. Sorter upper section with two opening doors either side of a fixed middle panel. Over a larger base with two locking cupboard doors (internal depth 20") and three drawers in the waist.
Shallow overhanging canopy top typical of the form with moulded front and particularly attractive and rare original date carving. Large turned droppers to the corners and lovely carved detail to the arched centre panel. Raised and fielded door panels to both sections. Fielded drawer fronts with attractive later 18th.c. brass handles. Oak panelled sides and rear, oak drawer linings and floor boards. Previous repairs to the bottom of the stiles. Very good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied for the doors in the base.
