Marquetry Inlaid Rosewood Secretaire Abattant c.1900.
Fine quality inlaid rosewood secretaire abattant c.1900. Rouge griote marble top over a fall front bureau (the top three drawer fronts being dummies) opening to form a leather top writing slope (height 30" at the front edge) with a birdseye maple lined interior of four small stationery drawers and two shelves. Four drawers below the desk. Rosewood veneers arranged in a symmetrical pattern across the front and sides. Beautiful floral pattern marquetry inlays to the drawer fronts within applied brass mouldings. Further brass mouldings around the top and plinth. Inlaid stringing to the sides and plinth. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Original locks, keys supplied.
