Carved Oak Bookcase c.1890
Impressive late 19th.c. Renaissance revival carved oak bookcase c.1890. Glazed bookcase top fitted with three adjustable shelves (depth 9") over a larger two door cupboard base with a single shelf inside (depth 16") and two drawers in the waist. Extensive 17th.c. style carving across the front, note the tall frieze above the upper doors, grotesque heads and fruit and leaf carving flanking the doors top and bottom, green man masks to form the drawer handles and the cupboard door panels carved in heigh relief with fish and game. Flared apron around the base mirroring the cornice and turned bun feet. Solid oak sides, shelves and back boards. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
