Unusual set of six early 19th.c. Country Chippendale type fruitwood dining chairs c.1820. Shaped cresting rail over very unusually pierced backsplats with cutaways in the shape of a mortar and pestle (or butter churn perhaps) and an upturned crescent. Board seats raised on square front legs joined with H stretchers. Excellent condition and particularly good colour. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
